After 10 days of covid isolation I was out! So, on with the walking boots and head out for a stroll before breakfast; but after a cup of tea of course! I thought I would do my usual walk in reverse. Spice things up a bit, lol.
I was keeping my eyes peeled for anything that might be about. Whilst walking down a track I was seeing what birds there were, but nothing exciting! When I got to a gate I just happened to look across the field and lo and behold! There were three deer. They’d obviously seen me as they started to run for it. No time for me to try to get any decent photos, so instead I hit the record button and got a short video. It was quite funny seeing them dart about. It’s as though the leader was shouting, ‘this way, this way ….. oh s*%t no! Back this way, quick’! And off they went. All of fifteen seconds.
Heading back home, I wasn’t expecting to see the deer again; they would be well gone. What I did see though was the local heron. Unfortunately, whenever I see the heron, he/she has always seen me first and has started to fly off, always away from me.
So, here is the heron; flying away! One day I’ll get a decent photo of it.
