Fox, Heron and Dipper

It has been quite a while since I have seen a fox, so I was delighted when this beauty appeared.

I decided to go and put the trail camera out where there is (still I hope) a badger sett. I know there has been a fox in the area too and it may well be living in an old badger sett; it’s something they are known to do. It was when I was walking quietly toward the sett that I looked ahead and noticed the fox. He/she was staring straight at me and I had about 30 seconds to get a photo before they ran off!

Hopefully one day soon we’ll meet again!

The Local Heron

A heron is a bird often seen in the area; I guess there are probably a few of them. I don’t often get any decent photos of them though as they always seem to see me before I see them. Considering the size of them I consider this a failing on my part! lol.

Dipper

I must have walked along this stretch of the river Tame hundreds of times and never seen a dipper before.

As I crossed a stile I saw a small bird flying away from me along the river. I saw it stop further down stream, though at the time I didn’t know what it was. When I looked through my camera lens I then realised it was a Dipper. They are difficult to photograph though, as they always fly off, back down the river to avoid you.

Anyway, it’s always good to see something new.
