nice to meet you
Considering what the focus of this blog is supposed to be about, you might wonder why I’m using this photo of myself on a rock!
To be honest, it’s probably the best one of me I’ve got! And it is a cracking view isn’t it! This is at The Old Man of Storr, on the Isle of Skye. If you enjoy the outdoors and great, if not epic landscapes, than I can highly recommend a visit. Anyway …
My name is Nigel Barnes and I’m a keen photographer, with a love of animals and landscapes. Most recently I’ve been concentrating on the wildlife that is very close to home (Saddleworth), and in particular the Roe Deer that can be found – if you know where and how to look. I’m aiming to follow and photograph the deer all year round, to hopefully get a glimpse of their world and in turn share it with you. If we’re lucky there may also be badgers and foxes, but let’s not get too carried away just yet!
It would be great if you could join me on this adventure and if you have any comments you’d like to make just use the contact form.
my camera gear
The camera and lenses I use are all Olympus. When I decided I fancied photography as a hobby, my main criteria for a camera was that it should be easy to travel with and something that is light enough to carry when out walking. The research I did at the time led me to the Olympus mirrorless system.
*This is not an advert for Olympus Camera’s and I have no association with them – apart from having spent lots of money on their gear!
